The Best AI Card Grading Apps in 2026, Compared Fairly

Facts checked October 6, 2026 · By the Binder AI Team (we make Binder AI)

AI pre-grading apps estimate how a professional grader might score your card from photos, so you can decide what is worth submitting. This roundup compares the AI grading tools we could verify as of October 2026, using each product's own website or app store listing. We make Binder AI, so we've stuck to published facts and noted what we couldn't confirm.

How we compared

We looked for apps and sites that give an AI grade estimate for trading cards, then checked each one's pricing, platforms, subgrades, supported cards and value features on official pages. We did not test accuracy head to head, and no app's accuracy claims (including Binder AI's own 87% figure, which is based on Binder AI's internal comparison of app estimates with returned professional grades) should be taken as a guarantee. Prices change often, so confirm on each official page before you buy.

The apps in more detail

Binder AI

Binder AI is an AI pre-grading app for iOS, Android and the web. You photograph the front and back of a card and get an overall grade estimate on the PSA, BGS or TAG scale you choose, with centering, corners, edges and surface subgrades and written condition notes. It also has a manual centering tool, identifies the card, shows eBay sold prices, price history and a graded value table, and sorts cards into binders by game or sport with sharing and wishlists. It supports Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Digimon, Lorcana, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, WWE and non-sport cards. The app is free to download, and grading is included in a subscription: $1.99/week, $3.99/month or $24.99/year on the website ($4.99/month or $29.99/year in the App Store).

Best for: collectors who want grading, pricing and collection tracking in one app across Pokémon, other TCGs and sports. Not for: anyone who needs an official grade; Binder AI's results are estimates. Read how AI card grading works.

Pregradecards

A web-based AI pre-grading service that returns a PSA-style 1 to 10 estimate with all four subgrades, exact centering ratios with an overlay and PDF reports. It runs on credits: subscriptions range from Hobbyist ($4.99/month for 40 credits) to Shop ($99/month for 1,500), and credit packs start at $4.99 for 15. A full grade costs 1 credit. It also offers slab label reading and value tools, and covers sports, TCGs, comics, coins and more. See our Binder AI vs Pregradecards comparison.

TCGrader

A web and Android tool with Quick Grade and a more detailed Precision Scan, giving PSA-style subgrades including whitening. Pricing is in GBP, from £9.99/month for 25 grades. It adds portfolio tracking, a slab vault and a marketplace. iOS is listed as coming soon.

CardGrade.io

Predicts PSA, BGS and CGC grades with sub-scores and confidence ratings, on the web (with a Chrome extension), iOS and Android according to its site. App Store plans run from Hobby ($4.99/month) to Business ($74.99/month), with credit packs available.

Card Grading AI

An iOS and Android app with four subgrades, a centering tool and portfolio values across Pokémon, sports, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Lorcana. Its App Store in-app purchase list includes unlimited and pro plans from $9.99 up to a $149.99 lifetime option. See Binder AI vs Card Grading AI.

Gemix

Two different products share this name. The Card Grading & Scanner - Gemix app gives AI grade estimates with four subgrades and saves scanned cards. gemix.jp is a separate Japanese mail-in grading and slabbing service. See Binder AI vs Gemix.

Scanner apps that don't do AI grading

Some popular card apps focus on identification, pricing and collection management instead of grade estimates. Based on their official pages as of October 2026, we did not find an AI grade estimate feature in:

  • CollX: scanner, pricing, collection and marketplace app. CollX Pro is $9.99/month or $99.99/year. See Binder AI vs CollX.
  • Ludex: scan, identify and value app with binders and eBay listing tools. Free tier plus paid plans from $4.99/month. See Binder AI vs Ludex.
  • Collectr: TCG portfolio tracker with scanning and a raw and graded price guide. PRO is $4.99/month billed annually or $7.99 billed monthly. See Collectr alternatives.

How to choose

  • You mainly want to know what to submit: pick an app with subgrades and the grading scale you plan to use, then check the money with our grading ROI calculator.
  • You also want pricing and a collection in one place: look for sold-price data and binders alongside grading.
  • You grade occasionally: credit-based tools can be cheaper. You grade often: a flat subscription can be simpler.
  • Whatever you choose: good photos matter more than any app. Follow our scanning tips.

Frequently asked questions

Are AI card grading apps accurate?

They give estimates, not official grades. Results depend heavily on photo quality and lighting, and no app can see everything a grader sees under a loupe. Use them to screen cards before paying grading fees, not as a guarantee.

Which AI card grading app is free?

Most charge for grading. Binder AI is free to download with grading included in a subscription ($1.99/week, $3.99/month or $24.99/year on the website; $4.99/month or $29.99/year in the App Store). Some credit-based tools offer a free first grade. Check each official pricing page, since offers change.

Do CollX or Ludex grade cards?

Based on their official pages as of October 2026, CollX and Ludex focus on scanning, identification, pricing and collections. We did not find AI grade estimates listed as a feature.
