What Collectr does well
Before switching, it helps to know what Collectr is good at. Based on getcollectr.com and its App Store listing as of October 2026:
- Portfolio tracking across many TCGs. It tracks raw, graded and sealed products and lists data for 25+ games, including Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, Dragon Ball Super, Flesh and Blood, Digimon and Weiss Schwarz.
- Market data. A price guide with raw, graded and population data and price history (up to 5+ years with PRO), plus cost basis, gains and losses, and multi-currency values.
- Extras. A camera scanner, a Trade Analyzer, social showcases and unlimited portfolios on the free plan.
- Platforms and price. It's on iOS, Android and the web. Collectr PRO is $4.99/month billed annually ($59.99/year) or $7.99 billed monthly, and adds unlimited scanning, in-depth pricing data, exclusive filters and data export.
If you mainly collect TCGs and sealed product, Collectr is a strong choice. People look for Collectr alternatives when they want to know a card's likely grade before submitting (we did not find an AI grade estimate on Collectr's official pages), when they collect sports cards (Collectr's PRO page lists sports card scanning as coming soon), or when they want deck building, a different marketplace or a cheaper plan.

The alternatives in more detail
1. Binder AI
Binder AI is an AI pre-grading app for iOS, Android and the web. You photograph the front and back of a card and get an overall grade estimate on the PSA, BGS or TAG scale you choose, with centering, corners, edges and surface subgrades and written condition notes. It also has a manual centering tool, identifies the card, shows eBay sold prices, price history and a graded value table, and sorts cards into binders by game or sport with sharing and wishlists. It supports Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Digimon, Lorcana, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, WWE and non-sport cards. The app is free to download, and grading is included in a subscription: $1.99/week, $3.99/month or $24.99/year on the website ($4.99/month or $29.99/year in the App Store).
Best for: collectors who want to know which cards are worth grading, with the estimate next to eBay sold prices, and who collect sports cards as well as TCGs. Trade-off vs Collectr: Binder AI is built around grading and binders rather than a stock-style portfolio, and it has no marketplace. See how to organize a Pokémon binder.
2. TCGplayer
The TCGplayer app scans cards, organizes your collection and tracks the market price for every card on the TCGplayer marketplace for free. It supports dozens of games, from Magic, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! to One Piece, Lorcana, Star Wars Unlimited and Gundam, and you can shop the marketplace in the same app. Best for: TCG players who already buy on TCGplayer.
3. Dragon Shield
Arcane Tinmen publishes separate Dragon Shield scanner apps for Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Flesh and Blood. The Pokémon app scans cards, shows TCGplayer and Cardmarket prices, organizes cards into folders, exports to CSV, and adds a deck builder, a trade tool and friend sharing. Its App Store Premium plan is $3.99/month or $39.99/year. Best for: players who build decks and trade, not just collect.
4. PriceCharting
PriceCharting tracks sold prices from eBay, Heritage and other sites and sorts them by condition, across video games, trading cards, comics, coins and more. The app has collection and wishlist tracking, search by photo, deal alerts and grading recommendations for ungraded items. The App Store lists a Collector plan at $5.99/month or $59.99/year. Best for: collectors of more than just cards.
5. Dex
Dex is an unofficial Pokémon TCG app with a scanner, every English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese set, collection stats, prices, custom folders, a deck builder and friend sharing. Dex+ starts at $3.99/month on the App Store. Best for: Pokémon collectors focused on completing sets. For pricing basics, read our Pokémon card value guide.
6. Ludex
Ludex scans and values sports cards and some TCGs using eBay and other sold prices, with custom binders and an eBay "List-It" tool. Its free tier includes unlimited scans, a 60-card collection and 5 eBay listings a month. See Binder AI vs Ludex.
7. CollX
CollX matches cards against a database of 20+ million and includes a marketplace to buy and sell. CollX Pro adds unlimited collection size, a $10 monthly marketplace credit and CSV export. See Binder AI vs CollX.
How to choose
- You want a stock-style TCG portfolio with sealed product: Collectr is hard to beat. TCGplayer is a free option for raw cards.
- You want to know what's worth grading: pick an app with grade estimates, such as Binder AI. Compare options in our best AI card grading apps roundup, or for Pokémon specifically, the best Pokémon card grading apps.
- You play as well as collect: Dragon Shield or Dex add deck building.
- You collect sports cards: Ludex, CollX or Binder AI cover them today.
Many collectors use two apps: one to track a big collection, and one to check condition on the few cards that might be worth grading.
