What Pregradecards does well
It's worth being clear about Pregradecards' strengths first. Based on its official pages as of October 2026:
- Detailed centering. It gives exact left/right and top/bottom centering ratios with a visual overlay, alongside corners, edges and surface subgrades.
- Several grading companies. It returns a PSA-style 1 to 10 estimate and describes predictions for PSA, BGS, SGC and CGC.
- Flexible credits. Subscriptions run from Hobbyist ($4.99/month for 40 credits) to Shop ($99/month for 1,500 credits), and pay-as-you-go packs start at $4.99 for 15 credits. A complete grade uses 1 credit, and its pricing page says credits never expire.
- More than cards. It offers PDF reports, batch grading, slab label reading and value tools, and covers sports cards, TCGs, comics, coins, banknotes and stamps.
If you grade in batches at a computer, that's a strong package. People usually look for Pregradecards alternatives because they want to grade on a phone (we found no App Store or Google Play listing for Pregradecards as of October 2026), prefer a flat subscription to counting credits, or want grading, pricing and a collection in one app.

The alternatives in more detail
1. Binder AI
Binder AI is an AI pre-grading app for iOS, Android and the web. You photograph the front and back of a card and get an overall grade estimate on the PSA, BGS or TAG scale you choose, with centering, corners, edges and surface subgrades and written condition notes. It also has a manual centering tool, identifies the card, shows eBay sold prices, price history and a graded value table, and sorts cards into binders by game or sport with sharing and wishlists. It supports Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Digimon, Lorcana, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, WWE and non-sport cards. The app is free to download, and grading is included in a subscription: $1.99/week, $3.99/month or $24.99/year on the website ($4.99/month or $29.99/year in the App Store).
Best for: collectors who want to pre-grade on their phone at a show or while sorting, and keep the estimate next to sold prices and binders. Trade-off vs Pregradecards: Binder AI focuses on trading cards, not comics or coins, and doesn't offer pay-per-grade credits. See the full Binder AI vs Pregradecards comparison.
2. TCGrader
TCGrader offers a Quick grade (1 credit, about 30 seconds) and a more detailed Precision Scan (2 credits) that inspects 18 regions front and back, with centering, corners, edges, surface and whitening scores plus written defect notes. Plans are priced in GBP: Collector is £9.99/month for 25 grades, Pro is £19.99/month for 75, and a Dealer Console tier adds shop tools. It also has price alerts, a slab vault and a marketplace. Best for: collectors in the UK, or anyone who wants grading, portfolio alerts and selling in one place.
3. CardGrade.io
CardGrade.io predicts PSA, BGS and CGC grades from front and back photos, with sub-scores, a confidence score and centering measurements. It runs on the web, iOS, Android and as a Chrome extension. App Store plans are Hobby $4.99, Starter $9.99, Pro $24.99 and Business $74.99 a month, with annual options, and its pricing page lists one-time packs from $9.99. It also advertises a "2-grade credit-back guarantee" if a real grade comes back more than two grades off. Best for: credit-based users who want an app as well as a website.
4. Card Grading AI
An iOS and Android app that estimates a grade with all four subgrades from front and back photos, with a dedicated centering tool, grading history, "digital slabs" and a portfolio that tracks estimated value. It covers Pokémon, sports cards, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Disney Lorcana. Its App Store in-app purchases range from $9.99 to a $149.99 lifetime plan. See Binder AI vs Card Grading AI.
5. CardVis
CardVis gives a breakdown across centering, edges, surface and corners with written notes for each score, and lets you save, filter and search graded cards. It's on iOS and Android. App Store subscriptions are Pro at $4.95/week or $19.49/month and Elite at $7.95/week or $31.49/month. Best for: phone-first users who want report notes on every subgrade.
6. Gemix (Card Grading & Scanner)
An Android app that scans TCG and sports cards and gives a grade estimate across centering, corners, edges and surface. Its listing says the algorithm is trained to mirror PSA, CGC and TAG standards, and it saves scanned cards with predicted grades. It is a different product from gemix.jp, a Japanese mail-in grading service. See Binder AI vs Gemix.
Credits vs subscription: which pricing suits you?
AI pre-grading tools charge in two main ways. Credits (Pregradecards, CardGrade.io packs, TCGrader one-offs) suit occasional graders, since you only pay for what you check. Flat subscriptions (Binder AI, and plans with a monthly allowance) suit people who check cards often, because you don't have to ration grades. Add up how many cards you realistically screen in a month, then compare the cost per card on each official pricing page.
How to choose
- You grade at a desk in batches and want PDF reports: Pregradecards remains a good fit.
- You want to grade on your phone: look at Binder AI, CardGrade.io, Card Grading AI or CardVis.
- You submit to TAG or BGS: pick a tool that shows that scale, such as Binder AI (PSA, BGS or TAG) or CardGrade.io (PSA, BGS, CGC).
- Whatever you pick: AI pre-grading is only as good as your photos. Follow our how to pre-grade cards checklist, and read how AI card grading works to understand its limits.
