What Ludex does well
Based on its website and App Store listing as of October 2026, Ludex's strengths are:
- Unlimited scans on every plan, including the free tier, with card identification that handles variations and parallels.
- Prices from real sales. Values are based on eBay completed sales and other marketplaces, with hourly trending-player data and hobby news.
- Fast eBay listing. The "List-It" feature builds an eBay listing from your scan: 5 a month free, 50 on Lite or Standard, 250 on Pro.
- Binders and set tracking for sports like baseball, basketball, football, soccer, hockey, MMA, wrestling and racing, plus Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and VeeFriends.
- iOS and Android apps. Paid plans on the App Store are Lite ($4.99/month, one category), Standard ($9.99/month) and Pro ($24.99/month), with annual options and a 7-day free trial.
Common reasons to look for a Ludex alternative:
- You want an estimated grade before paying grading fees. We did not find AI grade or condition estimates on Ludex's official pages.
- The free tier's 60-card collection limit is too small for you.
- You collect TCGs Ludex doesn't list, such as Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece or Lorcana.
- You'd rather sell inside the app than list on eBay, or you want deeper market data.

The alternatives in more detail
Binder AI: if you want to know what's worth grading
Binder AI is an AI pre-grading app for iOS, Android and the web. You photograph the front and back of a card and get an overall grade estimate on the PSA, BGS or TAG scale you choose, with centering, corners, edges and surface subgrades and written condition notes. It also has a manual centering tool, identifies the card, shows eBay sold prices, price history and a graded value table, and sorts cards into binders by game or sport with sharing and wishlists. It supports Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Digimon, Lorcana, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, WWE and non-sport cards. The app is free to download, and grading is included in a subscription: $1.99/week, $3.99/month or $24.99/year on the website ($4.99/month or $29.99/year in the App Store).
Best for: screening cards before a grading submission and seeing the estimate next to sold prices and a graded value table. Not for: listing or selling, since Binder AI has no marketplace or eBay listing tool. Its grades are estimates, not official grades. See Binder AI vs Ludex for the full side by side.
CollX: if you want a marketplace built in
CollX scans sports, TCG and non-sport cards against a database it says holds 20+ million cards, and recognizes graded cards and parallels. Its big difference from Ludex is the in-app marketplace: buyers are covered by CollX Protect, and sellers pay a 10% commission with payment processing included. Free users can keep fewer than 500 items. CollX Pro ($9.99/month or $99.99/year) adds unlimited collections, 500 Scan+ credits a month, CSV export and a $10 monthly buying credit.
Collectr: if you mostly collect TCGs
Collectr tracks raw, graded and sealed TCG products as a portfolio, across more than 20 games including Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, Digimon and Dragon Ball Super. It adds pop reports, a trade analyzer and a web app. Unlimited scanning needs PRO ($4.99/month billed annually or $7.99 monthly, per its site). Sports cards are not listed.
TCGplayer: if you want a free TCG scanner
The TCGplayer app scans cards, tracks your collection and shows market prices for free, for dozens of TCGs. You can shop the TCGplayer marketplace from the app. It does not cover sports cards.
Card Ladder: if you want sales history
Card Ladder covers sports and Pokémon cards with value estimates, hobby news and its own Card Ladder Index. Pro ($19.99/month or $199.99/year) adds all-time sales history across marketplaces, collection tracking, price alerts and player tracking. A recent update lets you add a graded card by scanning its slab.
Market Movers: if you buy to invest
Market Movers, from Sports Card Investor, scans raw or graded cards and shows sales history back to 2001, plus trends, price alerts and grade and variation reports. Plans are Starter ($9.99/month, 25 collection items), Premium ($24.99/month, 250 items) and Unlimited ($49.99/month), and annual billing saves 17%.
How to pick
- Grading decisions: use an app with AI grade estimates, then run the numbers in the grading ROI calculator.
- Pricing baseball and other sports cards: start with our baseball card value guide and sports card scanner guide.
- Selling: stay with Ludex for eBay listing, or try CollX for an in-app marketplace.
- TCGs: Collectr and TCGplayer cover far more games.
- Market research: Card Ladder and Market Movers go deepest.
You don't have to pick just one. Plenty of collectors keep a scanner for bulk cataloging and listing, and a grading app for the handful of cards that might be worth submitting.
