What Pocket Binder does well
Card Grading: Pocket Binder keeps things simple. You photograph the front and back of a card, get an AI condition analysis with notes, and your cards are sorted into binders by game or sport. Its standout feature is the Hall of Fame, a community board where you can share your best cards, collect likes and comments and climb a leaderboard. It covers a wide mix of TCGs and sports, and its listing is upfront that AI grading is imperfect and not a guarantee of a professional grade. If you want a lightweight grader with a social side, and a one-time lifetime purchase appeals to you, it's worth a look.
Where Binder AI differs
- More platforms. Binder AI runs on iPhone, Android and the web, so you can grade on your phone and review on a computer. We only found Pocket Binder on Apple's App Store.
- A named grading scale and subgrades. Binder AI lets you pick the PSA, BGS or TAG scale and shows centering, corners, edges and surface subgrades. Pocket Binder's listing doesn't say which scale its result uses or list subgrades.
- Prices next to the grade. Binder AI shows eBay sold prices, price history and a graded value table, which helps answer "is this worth grading?" We did not find pricing features in Pocket Binder's listing.
- Lorcana support. Binder AI lists Disney Lorcana; Pocket Binder's listing does not.
- Different pricing models. Pocket Binder's weekly plan is $4.99, and it offers a $24.99 lifetime option. Binder AI is $1.99/week, $3.99/month or $24.99/year on the website ($4.99/month or $29.99/year in the App Store). If you plan to use an app for years, a lifetime purchase can work out cheaper; if you want the lower weekly or monthly price, Binder AI is less.
The other Pocket Binder (Pokémon and MTG)
The Pocket Binder app by Patrick Rowzie, released on the App Store on February 19, 2026, is a collection app for Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering. Its listing describes an AR card scanner, 3D "Showcase" models for rare cards, real-time market values and collection value tracking, wishlists, social trading with friends and listing cards for sale in the app. Its website, mypocketbinder.com, says it is free and adds deck building. It does not list grade estimates, so it competes more with scanner and trading apps than with Binder AI. If you want to trade Pokémon and MTG cards with friends, it may suit you better. If you want a grade estimate before submitting a card, it isn't built for that.

It also has a manual centering tool, identifies the card, shows eBay sold prices, price history and a graded value table, and sorts cards into binders by game or sport with sharing and wishlists. It supports Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Digimon, Lorcana, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, WWE and non-sport cards. The app is free to download, and grading is included in a subscription: $1.99/week, $3.99/month or $24.99/year on the website ($4.99/month or $29.99/year in the App Store).
Which should you choose?
Choose Card Grading: Pocket Binder if you use an iPhone, like the idea of a community leaderboard for your best cards and prefer a one-time lifetime purchase.
Choose Binder AI if you want a grade estimate on a specific scale with subgrades, sold prices beside it, and access on Android or the web as well as iPhone.
Whichever you pick, AI grades are estimates, and photo quality matters a lot. Check whether a submission pays off with the grading ROI calculator, read how AI card grading works, or compare more options in our AI card grading app roundup.
