CardGrader.AI Alternatives: 7 AI Card Graders Compared

Facts checked October 18, 2026 · By the Binder AI Team (we make Binder AI)

The closest CardGrader.AI alternatives are CardGrade and Card Grading AI if you want another phone app, PreGradeCards or TCGrader if you prefer grading in a browser, and Binder AI if you want grading, sold prices and binders under one subscription. Digital Grading Co and Card Grader Pro round out the list, and Card Grader Pro adds optional human grading. We checked every app below as of October 2026 on its own website or app store listing. We make Binder AI, so we have kept to published facts and flagged what we could not confirm.

Short answer

  • Want a grade on the TAG scale, plus prices and binders? Binder AI.
  • Want CGC predictions and credits that never expire? CardGrade or PreGradeCards.
  • Want another phone app with a dedicated centering tool? Card Grading AI.
  • Want a person to look at the card too? Card Grader Pro, which sells human grades as an add-on.
  • Want to grade and sell in one place? TCGrader, which links to its own escrow marketplace.

What CardGrader.AI does well

It is worth being clear about why CardGrader.AI is popular before switching. From its website and store listings as of October 2026:

  • Live Grade. You point your phone camera at a card and the app reads corners, edges, surface and centering as you move it, then shows a grade on screen. Per-corner and per-edge subgrades appear as you scan, and recent versions draw measured centering lines.
  • Sold prices next to the grade. It pulls raw and graded sold prices and gives a "grade it or not" call based on your own grading fee and minimum value.
  • Free web tools. A Pokémon card value checker, card comps, a sports card value lookup, a Pokémon set database and a centering calculator that shows how a card would fare under PSA, BGS and CGC standards.
  • Every platform. It is on the App Store (4.8 from 416 ratings) and Google Play (10K+ downloads), and web sign-in gives you grading, prices and your collection.
  • A free first scan, plus free price lookups and set checklists. Some reviews mention a daily free allowance, but the current listings only promise the first scan, so we could not confirm a daily limit.

Where people look elsewhere

  • Grading scale. CardGrader.AI's homepage talks about PSA grade predictions, and its listing says it is not affiliated with PSA, BGS or CGC. We did not find a TAG scale. If you submit to TAG or want a named BGS or CGC estimate, other apps state it more clearly.
  • Pricing clarity. Its App Store page lists plans named Collector ($7.99 and $9.99), Collector Annual ($59.99), Pro ($17.99 and $19.99) and Dealer ($29.99), plus packs named CardGrader 10, 100 and 500 ($5.99 to $29.99), without explaining what each includes. We did not find a public pricing page.
  • Mixed reviews. Some App Store and Play reviewers praise its centering and prices, while others report wrong surface grades, misidentified cards or billing trouble. That is normal for this category, but it pushes people to compare.
  • Collection tools. It tracks collection value and can list cards on eBay. Collectors who want binders by game, wishlists or sharing may want a different app.

Each alternative in brief

Binder AI

Binder AI is an AI pre-grading app for iOS, Android and the web. You photograph the front and back of a card and get an overall grade estimate on the PSA, BGS or TAG scale you choose, with centering, corners, edges and surface subgrades and written condition notes. It also has a manual centering tool, identifies the card, shows eBay sold prices, price history and a graded value table, and sorts cards into binders by game or sport with sharing and wishlists. It supports Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Digimon, Lorcana, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, WWE and non-sport cards. The app is free to download, and grading is included in a subscription: $1.99/week, $3.99/month or $24.99/year on the website ($4.99/month or $29.99/year in the App Store).

It suits collectors who want one app for deciding what to grade, checking what a card sells for and keeping binders. It has no marketplace, and like every app here its grades are estimates.

CardGrade

CardGrade predicts PSA, BGS and CGC grades with a confidence score and centering, corners, edges and surface sub-scores. A Forensic Capture mode uses eight macro close-ups for Pro users. It runs on iOS, Android and the web, and a Chrome extension grades cards on eBay, COMC and TCGplayer listings. Plans run from Hobby ($4.99/month, 10 credits) to Business ($74.99/month, 300 credits), and one-time packs never expire. See Binder AI vs CardGrade for a full side by side.

TCGrader

TCGrader is a web and Android tool priced in pounds. A Quick grade costs 1 credit and a Precision Scan of 18 regions costs 2. Subgrades include whitening, which few apps list. Paid plans add price alerts, a vault for slabs you already own and lower fees on its TCMarket escrow marketplace. iOS is listed as coming soon.

Card Grading AI

Card Grading AI (CGA) is an iPhone and Android app with four subgrades and a centering tool for border alignment, plus collection values. It has 100K+ downloads on Google Play and a 4.8 rating from 588 App Store ratings. Its App Store purchase list runs from a $9.99 Unlimited plan to a $149.99 lifetime plan. See Binder AI vs Card Grading AI.

PreGradeCards

PreGradeCards is browser based. A full grade costs 1 credit and returns subgrades for all four corners and edges, surface and exact centering ratios with overlays, plus a PDF report. It predicts PSA, BGS and CGC grades. Its site claims "89% accuracy within 1 grade point" across 1.2M+ cards analyzed, which is a vendor figure we could not check independently.

Digital Grading Co

Digital Grading Co (also called Digital Grading AI) gives an AI report on centering, corners, edges and surface, with market insights and hold, trade or sell suggestions. Its listing says AI grading needs an in-app purchase or subscription. It has a 4.6 rating from 2.9K App Store ratings and 100K+ Play downloads.

Card Grader Pro

Card Grader Pro gives an instant AI grade and sells optional human grading, where a person reviews the card and says whether it is worth submitting. It also has a buy and sell market and a community showcase. It is rated 4.7 from 4.9K App Store ratings. The listing does not say which grading scale its AI uses.

Free vs paid limits

No app on this list offers unlimited free AI grading as of October 2026. Here is what you actually get before paying.

  • One free grade or credit. CardGrader.AI (first scan), CardGrade (eligible new accounts), TCGrader and PreGradeCards (1 credit on sign-up).
  • Free tier with an unstated limit. Card Grader Pro.
  • No free grading stated. Digital Grading Co, Card Grading AI and Binder AI. All three are free to download.

Free web tools are a different story. You can measure centering without paying anything using the card centering calculator, which shows how your borders compare with grading company limits.

On cost per grade, credit apps are cheap if you grade a few cards a month and get pricier at volume, while a flat plan like Binder AI's $24.99 yearly web subscription works out cheaper the more you grade.

How we compared

We started from the apps that rank or get cited for "AI card grader" searches, then checked each one on its own website, App Store listing or Google Play listing on October 18, 2026. We recorded platforms, free options, named grading scales, subgrades, value features and listed prices. We did not run a head-to-head accuracy test, and we have not repeated any vendor's accuracy number as fact. Prices and free offers change often, so confirm on the official page before you buy. For the wider field, including scanner apps that do not grade, see the best AI card grading apps roundup.

Frequently asked questions

Is CardGrader.AI free?

Partly. Its store listings as of October 2026 say your first scan is free, along with free price lookups and set checklists. Its website also has free tools such as a Pokémon value checker and a centering calculator. Ongoing grading uses paid plans or packs, and the cheapest App Store purchase is $5.99.

Is CardGrader.AI the same as Card Grader Pro or CardGrade?

No. CardGrader.AI (cardgrader.ai), CardGrade (cardgrade.io) and Card Grader Pro are three separate companies with separate apps. Apple also lists another app called Card Grader AI. Check the developer name before you subscribe.

Which CardGrader.AI alternative grades on the TAG scale?

Binder AI lets you choose the PSA, BGS or TAG scale. Of the other apps here, CardGrade and PreGradeCards name PSA, BGS and CGC, and TCGrader uses a PSA-style scale. We did not find TAG predictions on their official pages as of October 2026.

Which alternative works best on Android?

Binder AI, CardGrade, Card Grading AI, Digital Grading Co, Card Grader Pro and TCGrader all have Google Play apps. PreGradeCards runs in a mobile browser instead of an app.

Are AI card graders accurate enough to trust?

Use them to screen cards, not to predict a slab. Every accuracy number in this category is published by the company selling the app, and none has been audited independently. Test a few cards you know the grade of, and take sharp, glare-free photos.
