What CollX does well
Before switching, it's worth being clear about what CollX is good at. Based on its App Store listing and website as of October 2026:
- Fast scanning across almost every category. CollX says it matches against a database of 20+ million cards, covering many sports, TCGs like Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Flesh and Blood, One Piece and Lorcana, and non-sport sets. It also recognizes graded cards, parallels and reprints.
- A built-in marketplace. You can buy and sell inside the app, with CollX Protect holding payment until cards arrive. Sellers pay a 10% commission, and CollX covers payment processing.
- A free app on iOS and Android, with CollX Pro at $9.99/month or $99.99/year and CollX Gold at $24.99/month or $249/year on the App Store.
If that's what you need, CollX is a strong choice. People usually look for apps like CollX for one of these reasons:
- You want to know a card's likely grade before paying to submit it. We did not find an AI grade estimate listed on CollX's official pages.
- You collect mostly Pokémon or other TCGs and want a tracker built around them.
- You want deeper sold-price data and market tools for buying and investing.
- You want a cheaper paid plan, or you hit the free collection limit (CollX's Pro page says regular users can hold fewer than 500 items).

The alternatives in more detail
Binder AI: if you want grade estimates
Binder AI is an AI pre-grading app for iOS, Android and the web. You photograph the front and back of a card and get an overall grade estimate on the PSA, BGS or TAG scale you choose, with centering, corners, edges and surface subgrades and written condition notes. It also has a manual centering tool, identifies the card, shows eBay sold prices, price history and a graded value table, and sorts cards into binders by game or sport with sharing and wishlists. It supports Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Digimon, Lorcana, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, WWE and non-sport cards. The app is free to download, and grading is included in a subscription: $1.99/week, $3.99/month or $24.99/year on the website ($4.99/month or $29.99/year in the App Store).
Best for: deciding which cards are worth grading, with sold prices and a graded value table next to the estimate. Not for: buying and selling in app, since Binder AI has no marketplace. Its grades are estimates, not official grades. See the full Binder AI vs CollX comparison.
Ludex: the closest like-for-like swap
Ludex is a scan, identify and value app for sports cards and TCGs, with prices based on eBay completed sales and other marketplaces. It has custom binders, set tracking, hobby trends and a "List-It" tool for listing cards on eBay. Its free tier includes unlimited scans, a 60-card collection and 5 eBay listings a month. Paid plans on the App Store are Lite ($4.99/month, one category), Standard ($9.99/month) and Pro ($24.99/month), with annual options and a 7-day free trial. Categories include major sports, MMA, wrestling, racing, Pokémon, Magic and VeeFriends.
Collectr: if you collect TCGs
Collectr is a portfolio tracker for raw, graded and sealed TCG products. Its App Store listing covers more than 20 games, including Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, Digimon, Flesh and Blood and Dragon Ball Super, plus Funko. It shows raw and graded prices, pop reports and a trade analyzer. Unlimited scanning and data exports need PRO, which its site lists at $4.99/month billed annually or $7.99 billed monthly. Sports cards are not listed among its games.
TCGplayer: if you play and buy TCGs
The TCGplayer app scans cards, tracks your collection and shows market prices for free, across a long list of games from Magic and Pokémon to One Piece, Lorcana and Star Wars Unlimited. You can shop the TCGplayer marketplace from the app. It focuses on TCGs, not sports cards.
Card Ladder: if you want sales history
Card Ladder is a price guide and collection tracker for sports and Pokémon cards. Free users can search values, read hobby news and follow the Card Ladder Index. Pro ($19.99/month or $199.99/year on the App Store) adds all-time sales history, value estimates for your collection, price alerts and player tracking. Recent updates added scanning a graded card's slab to add it to your collection.
Market Movers: if you buy and invest
Market Movers, from Sports Card Investor, combines a scanner for raw or graded cards with sales history back to 2001, trend tools, price alerts and collection tracking. Plans are Starter ($9.99/month, 25 collection items), Premium ($24.99/month, 250 items) and Unlimited ($49.99/month), with annual plans that save 17%. It covers sports cards and TCGs.
How to choose a CollX alternative
- You want to know what to grade: pick an app with AI grade estimates, then check the math with the grading ROI calculator. Our AI card grading app roundup compares the options.
- You want to sell in the same app: CollX, TCGplayer and Ludex (via eBay) are built for that. Binder AI is not.
- You collect mostly TCGs: Collectr and TCGplayer are built around them.
- You want market data: Card Ladder and Market Movers go deepest on sales history.
- You scan sports cards: read our sports card scanner guide first.
Many collectors use two apps: one for bulk scanning and selling, and one for grade estimates on the cards that might be worth submitting.
